A quick guideFind your bearings
Three ways to get closer.
Move through time.
Use the timeline or enter a year. Try two moments a generation apart and look for what changes.
For a BCE date, enter a negative year: −3000 means 3000 BCE.
Change your perspective.
Rotate the globe and zoom into a region. Zoom buttons let you move closer without a mouse gesture.
Keyboard: focus the map, then use arrow keys to move and + / − to zoom.
Follow a marker.
Open a marker to see the story behind a place. The event list offers another way to explore the available entries.
No markers? Try a different year. An empty view doesn’t mean nothing happened.
